Prep Required
Large Clear space for circle of players at arm’s length from each other
Game leader needs to know (or have list of) all players names
Concept
Players try and shoot - or avoid being shot as a target player
A good game to encourage a group to learn each others names as you need to know who is stood next to you at all times.
Does leave some on sidelines of game for a while so not great unless you are filtering people off into another activity, good to end a warmup/get to know you time with as those out gradually go off to start new activity.Rules
A name is called and - as they duck to avoid being shot - players either side of them fire towards the named person.
Simple you think - you'd be surprised how often even groups who know each other really well get it wrong.
Slowest person to react (or a wrong movement) is OUT and sits on sides to watch and catch others who are slow to move.Playing
Game leader (doesn't need to be an adult) calls out a name
Players react (or don't)
Slow/wrong player is declared OUT and sits out remainder of round
Ending the Game
When down to 2 players if still willing to compete then a shootout is required.
Players stand back to back and given a TOPIC (I.E. Vegetables) as the leader shouts out words they take a step apart until a word off TOPIC is said and this is the trigger to turn and shoot one another, again Slowest to react is OUT thereby giving a winner.Example
