• 30th January 2010 - Volunteer Training
  • Programme planning and working with small groups - training led by Amy Adams (Wales Training Network), Dave Jordan and Susan McIvor

• 12th to 14th February 2010 - Spring Circuit Youth Weekend
  • A Friday - Sunday residential weekend for young people from across the circuit to get together at the start of the half term holidays. To register interest as either a volunteer or participant then get in touch.

• 15th to 19th February - Youth Space does Decorating(daytime during half term holidays)
  • This week we will be decorating the new Youth Space premesis in Canton.
  • There will be plenty to get on with including painting, some carpentry, furniture assembly, cleaning, sorting kitchen items and much much more
• 26th Feburary 2010 - You Choose
  • An evening of choice organised by Youth Forum to allow young people from across the Circuit to get together for the evening and You Choose exactly what we do.
• 27th February 2010 - Volunteer Training
  • Safeguarding Module A - Training by the Synod Safeguarding Group

• 2nd March 2010 - Youth Forum- 19:30 in Youth Space
  • An opportunity to gather and support leaders who support young people from across the Cardiff Methodist Circuit.
  • A meeting to share our work and start planning an event for during the Summer Term.
• 21st March 2010 - Breakout Booking Deadline
  • Bookings and £10 deposit must be in with Ian by 21st March to secure your place.
• 27th March 2010 - Volunteer Training
  • Basic First Aid - Training by British Red Cross

• 4th April 2010 - Dawn Live
  • We beat the rest of the circuit up onto Caerphilly Mountain in time for the actual sunrise (at 06:28) and sing the sun up on Easter morning. Weather permitting we will also get the BBQ going in time for bacon butties before the grown-ups arrive.
• 22nd April (Thursday) - Somewhere to Go opens again
  • Our new after school cafe project where Youth Space is opened as a chilled out place for young people to have "Somewhere to Go"
• 24th April 2010 (Saturday) - Volunteer Training
  • Food Safety Level 2 Certificate - Training by DSI

• 1st May 2010 (Saturday) - Cardiff North Section Prayer Safari
  • An opportunity to walk between some of the Methodist Churches in North Cardiff and pray for the work of these buildings and their communities.

• 8th May 2010 (Saturday) - Youth Space does Opening
  • 12:00 official opening ceremony
  • All afternoon, tea and cakes, rounds of the animal game for all to join and Youth Space open for all to see.
  • Well come on we couldn't do a Youth Space event without the animal game involved somewhere!
• 20th June 2010 (Sunday) - YS1 trip to Solus at Cardiff Student's Untion (an IGNITE/Big Ideas event)

• 23rd June 2010 (Wednesday) - 19:30 Circuit Review Roadshow in Youth Space
  • The Circuit Review Group are holding one of the for Roadshow events in Youth Space this evening. We meet to discuss the future plans for the Cardiff Methodist Circuit. All are welcome but it would be particularly good if some of our participants can attend to get their views heard.

• 9th to 11th July 2010 (Fri - Sun) - Breakout 2010, Cliff College
  • The large event run my the Methodist Church for young people across the Methodist Connexion to get together for a weekend.
  • The initial booking deadline has now passed, but if your still interested there may still be a couple of places on our transport - Get in touch ASAP to see what we can arrange.
  • Possibilities of co-ordinated transport from the Cardiff area are still being considered. Contact Ian if you'd like to join us in going together to Breakout 2010.

  • A trip to the National Eisteddfod in Ebbw Vale - Only £3.00 per head.

  • Youth Space 1 will not be meeting this Sunday
• 5th September (Sunday) - Circuit Welcome Service
  • YS1 will be meeting up before the service and then joining with the rest of the Cardiff Circuit to welome the new staff members to the Circuit team and share in Worship as the whole body of the Methodist Church in Cardiff.
  • This will be the first outing of our new Yoo Smooth.Come along early (18:00) for our Smooth Operator training and then serve smoothies after the service.
  • There will therefore be no YS1 meeting in Canton this evening.
• 8th September (Wednesday) - First session of Somewhere to Go for the new year.
• 12th September (Sunday) - First session for Youth Space 1 in the new year.
  • Youth Space 1 is our worshiping body of Youth Space who meet in Youth Space on a Sunday evening in Fun, Fellowship and Faith.
• 10th October (Sunday) - YS1
  • Cafe Sundae 1 - Beautiful Mind? God and Difference
  • Our new informal worship where we work our way through a topic with the help of big games, small games and video clips, some famous, some more infamous.
  • This evening our Smoothie bar (Yoo Smooth) will be open
  • Bring a friend night - bring a friend and introduce them to what Youth Space is all about
• 22nd to 24th October 2010 (Friday - Sunday) - Autumn Circuit Youth Weekend
  • A Friday - Sunday residential weekend for young people from across the circuit to get together at the start of the half term holidays. To register interest as either a volunteer or participant then get in touch.
• 24th October 2010 (Sunday) - There will be no YS1 meeting in Canton this evening as we'll all have just come from the Circuit Youth Weekend.

  • National week recognising Youth Work. Celebrating and promoting the opportunities that exist for young people in Wales.

  • Compulsary Training for all staff and volunteers working with Children and Young People.
• 19th - 21st November 2010 (Friday - Sunday) - Methodist Youth Assembly (PGL Centre near Swindon)
• 28th November 2010 (Sunday) 19:00 - 19:30 - Cafe Sundae
  • "I don't believe it" - God and God
  • Church as you've never seen it before. A mixture of cafe style worship, interactive table games, everyone on their feet and multimedia, all challenging you to respond.
• 12th December 2010 (Sunday) 14:00 - YS Does Carol Singing
  • Youth Space will once again be going Carol Singing in the town centre for a few hours this Sunday afternoon. Come and join us
  • 14:00 - 16:00 meet next to the statue of Aneurin Bevan at the Castle end of Queen Street.
  • Following this we will return to Youth Space together on the bus to chill out before the YS1 Christmas party.

  • Fun, Friendship and Faith in our last YS1 of the term.
• 18th December 2010 (Saturday) 11:00 - 13:00 - Cardiff Methodist Circuit Carol Singing (St David's Hall Steps)
  • The whole of the Cardiff Methodist Circuit have been invited to sing carols to the christmas shoppers on on the steps of St Davids Hall. Meet just before 11:00 outside St David's Hall
• 9th January 2011 (Sunday) 15:00 - Action for Children Anniversary Service (Conway Road Methodist Church)
  • A special service celebrating 100 years of Action for Children in Wales.
• 12th January 2011 (Wednesday) 19:30 - Youth Forum Meeting (Youth Space)
  • Youth Forum is an opportunity for all those working with young people within the Methodist Church in Cardiff and Caerphilly to get together for a time of sharing and joined up planning.
• 6th February 2011 (Sunday) 19:00 - Cafe Sundae (Youth Space)
  • What's Love got to do with it? - God and Valentines
  • Our once per half term cafe style worship event within Youth Space open to all young people aged 11-18.
• 18th to 20th February 2011 (Friday - Sunday) - Spring Circuit Youth Weekend (Amelia Trust Farm)
  • A Friday - Sunday residential weekend for young people from across the circuit to get together at the start of the half term holidays.
  • Based at the Bunkhouse on the Amelia Trust Farm.
  • Cost £50 each for the whole weekend including all accomodation, activities and food.
  • To register interest as either a volunteer or participant then get in touch with Ian.
• 21st to 25th February 2011 (Monday - Friday) - Volunteer Week (Amelia Trust Farm)
  • Following our weekend together a week of work to assist in improving the beauty and accessibility of the Amelia Trust Farm for all who use it.
  • Tasks such as brush clearing, fence painting, Boardwalk building, Bench maintenance, fire building, log splitting.
  • Cost £5 per day including hot lunch.
  • Please book the days you can attend with Ian as soon as possible as without a minimum number we can't run these work days. (and don't forget you need a Consent Form)

  • Compulsary training for all adults working with Young People organised by the Wales Training Network
  • This training forms a part of the Youth Forum Spring Training Programme

  • ‘Passion’ is a poignant one act play depicting the last week of Christ’s life, from the ‘Last Supper’ to the crucifixion and resurrection. The play will last for just one hour.
• 23-24th April 2011 - Dawn Live 2011 (Sunrise 24th April 2011 at 05:59 BST)
  • A celebration of the Risen Christ shared together at Dawn - the real, sun rising over the horizon, dawn.
• 7 - 8th May 2011 - IGNITE Hope Local
  • IgniteHope gets young people from all over South Wales to share in the privilige of helping to tranform their communities own local communities and sharing the love of Jesus. We then are invited to a massive gathering organised by IGNITE Ministries.

  • An evening of video clips and games all challenging you to respond to the word.
  • A great opportunity to come and visit Youth Space for your first time.
• 21st May 2011 (Saturday) 10:00 - 16:30 - Wales National Childrens' & Youth Work Conference (Newtown, Powys)
  • Day of training, fellowship and resources for all volunteers working in Christian Youth Work from all denominations and from across Wales.
• 30th May - 5th June 2011 (Monday - Sunday) National Family Week
  • Why not be a part of National Family Week 2011 and organise family-friendly events and activities for families in your local community? Your organisation can use The Week to showcase your work - how you support families, offer activities and services for families, or engage in other ways in the promotion of family life.   • An opportunity for volunteers working with young people in Methodist Churches in Cardiff and Caerphilly to get together for joined up planning and a time of sharing
• 1st - 3rd July 2011 (Friday - Sunday) - Spree Wales
  • Spree is a very popular ecumenical event based in South Wales. It will offer a packed, inspiring, life-transforming programme, full of games, sports, craft, gigs and time with God! Don't hesitate to get more information as places will fill up fast.

  • Spirited Art - God and the Human Spirit
  • An evening of media and games all challenging you to respond.
  • A great opportunity to come and visit Youth Space for your first time.
• 11th - 16th July (Sunday - Saturday) - Spirited Art
  • A collection of artwork created by young people aged 11-18 exploring themes of Spirituality and Faith.
  • During this week the art works will be open to the public
  • We are also running workshops for youth groups and school trips - book in with Ian now
• 10th September 2011 (Saturday) - All Wales Methodist Youth Forum, Newtown
  • This will be the first meeting of the Wales Methodist Youth Forum, alongside the Full Wales Synod.
  • Any young people involved with the Methodist Church in Wales are welcome to join us and transport for some young people can be arranged with our Full Synod representatives.
• 10-11 September 2011 (Saturday - Sunday) - Harvest Festival at the Amelia Trust Farm

  • Youth Space has been asked to take our Smoothie bar... Full details of who, what and when to follow.
• 11th September 2011 (Sunday) - YS1
  • This will be the first YS1 of the new Academic Year.
• 15th September 2011 (Thursday) - The Word
  • This will be the first meeting for "The Word" for those young people in year 10 and above who want to take on the challenge of wrestling with "The Word" and studying Matthew's Gospel in a year.
• 20th September 2011 (Tuesday) - Youth Workers' Forum
• 24th September 2011 (Saturday) - Storytelling Workshop
  • A days workshop on storytelling methods and techniques for volunteers.
  • This event is run by the Wales Training Network.
• 1st October (Saturday) - Singing Workshop led by Alison Adams
  • A Singing Workshop organised by the Wales Training Network
  • Alison Adam is a gifted and experienced music workshop leader, whose main expertise lies in Congregational song.
  • Members of the Youth Space team will be present to assist any young people who wish to attend.
