The Duke of Edinburgh Programme (DofE)
Back to What's On - Onwards to Guiding Principals
Due to a lack of participants DofE Meetings are currently suspended. However, If you want more information in the mean-time then don't hesitate to Get in Touch. As soon as we have sufficient interest we will start up our own sessions again, in the mean time we are always in touch with other groups around who are involved with supporting the DofE and assisting them in completing their personal challenge.
Youth Space is also willing to act as a supporting body to assist any youth group in the Circuit with any difficulties they may have with their DofE group (such as unbalanced numbers or lack of certain kit items). Through our links with other groups we can assist you in making DofE achievable for all.
Through Youth Space, Duke of Edinburgh Programmes are open to all young people aged 14 to 18 who are interested in taking an opportunity for self improvement and getting recognition for their achievements outside of school.
The award has four elements;
- Volunteering – undertaking service to individuals or the community
- Physical – improving in an area of sport, dance or fitness activities
- Skills – developing practical and social skills and personal interests
- Expedition – planning, training for and completing an adventurous journey in the UK or abroad.
At present we are looking to guide a group through the Bronze level, although if your interested in a higher level then come and talk to us and we'll see what we can do.
Youth Space are running their DofE programme wil the support of Cardiff County Council who also act as our awarding body.
