Below are some of the previous status updates from the Youth Space 1 web-page.

A little glimpse at what YS1 has gotten up to over time.

• Next time we meet on 14th January 2010 we'll all be ready for a bit of a quiet evening following the Circuit Youth Weekend, but that doesn't mean we won't be meeting, just an evening of chilling out and chatting before the decoration starts on Monday Morning.
• On 17th January (our first meeting after being snowed off) we looked at "New Beginnings" with an evening of spirituality stations to explore what spirituality was to each of us individually. Next week we will be meeting as normal.

• 7th February Youth Space 1 are taking part in the filming of the Making Safer Spaces DVD.
  • We're going to be film stars
  • Make sure you've completed and returned your special filming consent form before this Sunday's events.
• 12th to 14th February - Circuit Youth Weekend
• 14th February - Youth Space 1
  • Don't be concerned, some of us may have just spent the best part of three days at the Amelia Trust Farm but that doesn't mean YS1 won't be meeting this evening.
• 15th to 19th February - Youth Space does Decorating (daytime during half term holidays)
  • This week we will be decorating the new Youth Space premesis in Canton.
  • There will be plenty to get on with including painting, some carpentry, furniture assembly, cleaning, sorting kitchen items and much much more
• 26th Feburary 2010 - You Choose
  • An evening of choice organised by Youth Forum to allow young people from across the Circuit to get together for the evening and You Choose exactly what we do.
• 7th March - YS1
  • Continuing our Lentern series on Worship.
  • "Silence or Song" a look into the different formats for Worship
• 14th March - YS1
  Continuing our Lentern series on Worship.
  Rev. Susan McIvor will look at "How we Pray"
• 21st March 2010 - Breakout Booking Deadline
  • Bookings and £10 deposit must be in with Ian by 21st March to secure your place.
  • Why not use the YS1 bank to make paying for Breakout easier.
• 21st March 2010 - YS1
  • Continuing our Lentern series on Worship.
  • Rev. Mark Rowland will join us to lead a discussion on "Liturgy".
• 28th March - YS
  Continuing our Lentern series on Worship on this Palm Sunday
• 20th June 2010 (Sunday) Solus, Cardiff Students' Unin (an IGNITE/Big Ideas Event)
  • YS1 are going out for the evening to the IGNITE event being held in Cardiff Students' Union.
  • We will meet up outside the Students' Union entrance on Senghenydd Road at 19:15 before going in together,
  • Afterwards we meet drivers in the car park of the Sheman Theatre (next door to the Students Untion for participants to be collected at approximately 21:40
• 4th July 2010(Sunday) **NOTE CHANGE OF DATE**- Youth Forum BBQ, Fairwater URC/Methodist Church
  • There will be no YS1 this Sunday as we all head for the Youth forum BBQ in Fairwater.
• 9th to 11th July 2010 - Breakout 2010, Cliff College
  • The large event run my the Methodist Church for young people across the Methodist Connexion to get together for a weekend.
  • Whilst the first booking period has now passed Ian still has a couple of places on the Minibus for the new price of £150 if anyone is interested in coming with us.
• 29th August (Sunday) - NO YS1
  • Youth Space 1 will not be meeting this Sunday
• 5th September (Sunday) - Circuit Welcome Service
  • YS1 will be meeting up before the service and then joining with the rest of the Cardiff Circuit to welome the new staff members to the Circuit team and share in Worship as the whole body of the Methodist Church in Cardiff.
  • This will be the first outing of our new Yoo Smooth.Come along early (18:00) for our Smooth Operator training and then serve smoothies after the service.
  • There will therefore be no YS1 meeting in Canton this evening.
• 12th September (Sunday) - First session for Youth Space 1 in the new year.
  • Youth Space 1 is our worshiping body of Youth Space who meet in Youth Space on a Sunday evening in Fun, Fellowship and Faith.

  Circuit Youth Weekend Planning
  • This week we aim to put in place the basic plans for our Autumn Circuit Youth Weekend
• 26th September (Sunday) - YS1
  • Making Sock Monkeys (CRAFT)
  • We will be sharing our skills and talents in producing our first batch of Sock Monkeys to sell at church fetes around the Circuit
• 3rd October (Sunday) - YS1
  • Instant Drama
  • Our opportunity to take a bible story from the hat and take it into a modern context and then present it to the rest of the group.
• 10th October (Sunday) - YS1
  • Cafe Sundae 1 - Beautiful Mind? God and Difference
  • Our new informal worship where we work our way through a topic with the help of big games, small games and video clips, some famous, some more infamous.
  • This evening our Smoothie bar (Yoo Smooth) will be open
  • Bring a friend night - bring a friend and introduce them to what Youth Space is all about
• 17th October (Sunday) - YS1
• 22nd to 25th October 2010 (Friday - Sunday) - Autumn Circuit Youth Weekend
  • A Friday - Sunday residential weekend for young people from across the circuit to get together at the start of the half term holidays. To register interest as either a volunteer or participant then get in touch.
• 24th October (Sunday) - There will be no YS1 meeting in Canton this evening as we'll all have just come from the Circuit Youth Weekend.

  • This Sunday we will be trying out the Christian Aid Sofa sessions to get some discussions going with the help of Mari from Christian Aid.

  • Our new informal worship where we work our way through a topic with the help of big games, small games and video clips, some famous, some more infamous.

• 5th December 2010 (Sunday) - YS1
  • Farm Yard Nativity (N.B. 17:30 start at the Amelia Trust Farm)
  • We are going to the Amelia Trust Farm for their annual nativity play amongst the sounds, sights and smells of the farm and stables.
  • Talk to Ian to arrange transport for this evening as we have a limited number of car passes.
• 12th December 2010 (Sunday afternoon) - YS Does Carol Singing
  • Youth Space will once again be going Carol Singing in the town centre for a few hours this Sunday afternoon. Come and join us - meeting at the Castle end of Queen Street at 14:00 and singing until 16:00.
  • Don't forget to wrap up warm as we're singing outside.
  • Bring some money for a warm drink in our break and bus fair (£1.50) to get back to Youth Space afterwards where we will have a warm meal and chill out until the YS1 Christmas Party.

  • The Cardiff Methodist Circuit as a whole are aiming to Carol Sing on the steps of St David's hall in order to spread some Christmas Cheer.

  • As the 4th Sunday of Advent we encourage all our participants and volunteers to return to their supporting church and share in the christmas celebrations with the rest of their local church family.

• 23rd July 2011 @10:00 - 12:00 - Car Wash
  • YS1 have volunteered to run a Car Wash this morning at Radyr Methodist Church in aid of their Car Park Fund. Meet in Radyr at 09:45 to start washing cars at 10:00.
  • There will also be a coffee morning and cake sale in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust so remember some pocket money for your cake and make sure you get picked up in a nice clean car.
• 24th July 2011 @18:00 (Sunday) - Circuit Service
  • Youth Space members will be meeting together to share with the rest of the Methodist Church in Cardiff and Caerphilly at St Andrew's Methodist Church (Birchgrove) to celebrate the end of the church year.
• 4th September 2011 @15:00 (Sunday) - Circuit Service at Rumney Methodist Church
  • Come and join the YS team at the Circuit Service to celebrate the change to Clusters and the start of the new church year.
• 11th September 2011 (Sunday) - YS1
  • Our 1st YS1 of the new church year.
  • This evening we welcome all of our new members and celebrate all those who have moved up in the new school year.
